02About this project
Parthenium is an invasive weed that chokes the grasslands wildlife grazes. On Mazingira Day in October 2025, more than a hundred young volunteers joined the foundation, Stand Up Shout Out and the Kenya Wildlife Service in Nairobi National Park to clear it by hand.
The day is part of a longer commitment to youth in conservation, in which young changemakers restore parks, plant and tend trees, and pass what they learn on to the children coming up behind them, supported with the tools and refreshments the work needs.
It continues work the foundation began years earlier: an earlier Parthenium clearance at the park is one of the oldest entries in this archive. Conservation lasts when young people own it.
