Coexistence training that equips community ambassadors, including women leaders, with the knowledge and tools to live safely alongside wildlife and reduce conflict.
02About this project
For communities who live beside wildlife every day, coexistence is a practical skill. The foundation supports toolbox trainings that give community ambassadors the knowledge and tools to live safely alongside wildlife and to reduce conflict before it costs lives, livestock or crops.
In 2025 the foundation co-sponsored a human-wildlife coexistence toolbox training led by Save the Elephants, bringing together community representatives from the Amboseli and Nairobi National Park areas with youth from Stand Up Shout Out. In 2026, at its Living Safely With Wildlife training in Samburu, women leaders from the SUSO coexistence villages stepped forward to ask questions, share lived experience and learn new approaches and technologies.
The foundation's account of the Samburu training is direct: you don't just train a woman, you strengthen a leader, one who carries that knowledge home to her family, her village and the next generation.
